The best sights at a glance
There’s always something happening during a holiday with children in Salzburg! Many of the cultural and historical highlights are also fun for young guests. Some even offer special children’s programmes. We warmly recommend the following sights:
Haus der Natur
This Salzburg classic should be part of every family holiday. Wander from prehistoric times to the future peeking into the world of dinosaurs and stepping onto the planets of the solar system. Among the highlights of the museum are the huge aquariums with fascinating underwater worlds, the journey through the rain forest and the look inside the human body.

An exciting baroque walking tour that had been closed for 200 years and today leads through the Salzburg Residenz Palace, Salzburg Cathedral with the Cathedral Museum, and St. Peter’s Monastery, hides behind the gates of the DomQuartier. The children’s programme in two age groups (5-10 years and 11-18 years) promises deep insights into days long gone with age-appropriate explanations, games and quizzes.
