The Hohensalzburg Fortress is the largest completely preserved castle complex in Central Europe and the symbol of the city of Mozart.
Get amazing views! Take in the vistas of the Baroque Old Town below, and then explore the imposing 11th century castle complex from the inside! If you have time, treat yourself to a tour of the princely chambers, the torture chamber and other well-preserved rooms. Ascend the Festungsberg hill either via Austria’s oldest cable car or a short but steep walk with fabulous panoramic views.
Opera, musicals, theatre and ballet! Just a 10-minute walk from the Altstadthotel, you’ll find the dazzling Salzburg Landestheater.
The home of cultural delights. With around 400 performances a season, the Salzburg Landestheater is one of the best cultural institutions of the city. Ask us for a calendar of events.
This special place is not only for children. Adults will be amazed, too. Amazed by what you ask? By puppet shows where nimble hands guide marionettes from a height of two metres.
See something special! Because of the special technique used, the Salzburg Marionette Theater was included in the list of intangible UNESCO Cultural Heritage Sites. Fairytales, musicals and operas are performed here.
The Baroque Mirabell Palace is just a stone’s throw from the Altstadthotel Wolf-Dietrich. This UNESCO World Heritage Site wows visitors with its gardens, and concerts are held in the events hall.
